Our Herd Sires

Herd Sire Chuck Wagon's Photo #1

Chuck Wagon

Dixie Thunder  X  Tari Graves

Chuck Wagon was purchased from Owen McGill in 2003 as a compliment to our herd sire program. He is out of Dixie Thunder and the great Tari Graves (75"). His horns measure in the mid 60's TTT, total measurement was 85 3/4 at the horn showcase in November 2004. He's long, tall, powerful, yet gentle. Everything you would want in a bull. What we like most about him is that he passes the horn and body on to his progeny. The ole timers say if you want to breed for horn, you better start with mamma's that have it and his mother Tara Graves is one of the premier cows in the breed located on the El Coyote ranch. We now have several of his offspring growing up in our herd. He is a proven bull that has made his mark on the breed.

Herd Sire Obvious Prophet's Photo #1

Obvious Prophet

Phenomenon  X  Whelm Me

The foundation of any breeding program, is defined by the bull(s), which are utilized to pass on their genetic traits to their offspring. When you think about this proposition it becomes crystal clear that the bull accounts for 50% of what your herd produces. Serious breeders understand the value in having a "great bull" and striving for outstanding offspring. At the beginning of the Silver T Program was Obvious Prophet. He was a planned breeding from the El Coyote Ranch. His Sire is Phenomenon who is responsible for many of the longest horned animals within the breed. His dam is Whelm Me (65 ttt), a full sister to the great Emperor bull. This genetic blend combines the best of two of the greatest bulls of all time. His horns are long, straight, and now exceed 64 inches and they are not done reaching their final length. Obvious Prophet's calves are very flashy and demonstrate every indication of being the "right kind"

Herd Sire Gringo's Photo #1

Gringo

Unlimited  X  Delta Heaven

Gringo has grown up to be a large bull who stands 59 inches at the hip. He is now 68 ttt and close to 90 inches total horn and is throwing some flashy calves. His 2005 son Hurricane was 72 total horn with 15 inch bases at 28 months and his 2006 son Hombre may exceed all of them. His sire is Unlimited and his dam Delta Heaven is an Emperor daughter with 64 inches of twisty TTT horn. This picture was taken when he was 32 months old. Today he has more body and size-see herd picture
